Update!

Hey Guys!

I just wanted to write a product update on the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask.  I had posted about this quite some time ago and I absolutely love it! I just thought it would be good to follow up with you guys on how Im feeling about the product now!

After my post I continued to use the mask nightly.  However, at some point, I stopped using it.  I can't remember if I had been traveling or if I was just lazy (lets be real: I was probably just being lazy).  And after two days of not using it, my lips completely chapped up! It was awful! My lips were constantly burning and peeling like crazy!  People were asking me what was going on with my lips (and not just my friends; other random people I work with began asking me too! Super embarrassing)

I then realized my problem.

This is a lip MASK; this is not a lip BALM. Like face masks, you should not be applying them every day because it strips your skin of the natural oils and causes more damage than good.  This is precisely what happened with this lip treatment.

This product is extremely hydrating and plumps my lips beautifully.  However, with constant use, it was actually damaging my lips and causing them to be dependent on the product.

It took about a month of lip exfoliating (again, NOT everyday) for my lips to normalize again.

Don't get me wrong; I LOVE this lip treatment.  I just use it 2-3 times a week instead of everyday and I still see the effects of it.

This has just been my personal experience with the product.  I am sure people with different skin types and sensitivities must have different reactions to different products!

I hope this has been useful for you guys!
Let me know if you want more product updates soon!

I also have a small Sephora hall coming up!

Stay tuned :)

Just Some Thoughts

Hey guys!

I thought I would do something different today.  This isn't a product review or haul or anything beauty related.  I just wanted to talk about some thoughts I have been having these past couple months because I feel that many other women (or men) can relate to things that are taking up a lot of my time and energy.

These past couple months have been really hectic.  School has been picking up and residency application process is just around the corner.  Its so overwhelming and frustrating, yet so exciting at the same time.  Im ready to continue on with my life and move onto the next step which will be residency.  Medical school has just been much more difficult than expected (between academics and balancing my personal life so it does not interfere with my career).

As school is becoming more and more difficult, as are some of my relationships.  My boyfriend and I have been struggling quite a bit.  We are now on year 3 of distance, and that isn't even the worst of our problems.  He's been a rock in my life and when things start to go badly I just break down.  I am such an emotional person that I throw myself and my time and energy into making things perfect.  It is exhausting.  And at some point, I don't have it in my to keep struggling.

As these things in my life started heating up, I decided to try yoga to see if that helps with all this anxiety and angst I have bottled up from life.  To be honest, at first, I thought I was doing it for the exercise and hoping it may bring me some calmness.  However, as I continued to go to classes and strengthen my practice, I realized I would make myself go to class even if I was exhausted just to get those 75 minutes of pure clarity.  When I am practicing on my mat something comes over me.  I am able to just let go of everything I am holding onto: all of my thoughts, all of the negative energy.  I am able to just be in a clear state of mind and flow through the movements.  Sometimes, this clarity lasts for the rest of my day.  Sometimes the negative vibes come rushing back as soon as I stop my practice.  However, those 75 minutes bring me so much peace that I will never be able to give it up.

During these moments of silence, I have realized that it is not healthy for anyone to hold onto so many emotions.  Life is too short to be hung up on all the negatives.  At a certain point, you just have to learn to let go whatever is holding you back or clouding your vision.  Be yourself; love yourself.  I have noticed that as long as I am treating myself with love and respect, I am constantly finding happiness.  It has been such a relief to discover this escape from my thoughts.

I hope all of you have your own methods of finding happiness.  I just thought I would share to you all what Ive learned over these past couple of months.

I wish you all lots of love, happiness, and joy.

XOXO

(The gushy feelings are now all over; I realize I was kind of all over the place.  I was just writing everything that came to mind :) and I will be posting up something more fun shortly!)

Review: Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner (Perversion)

Hey Guys!

Im back with another review! I just finished using this Urban Decay eyeliner (it retails for $19 at Sephora.  You can take a look at it here)

The color of this eyeliner is gorgeous.  It is a very pure rich black that stands out really well on the eye with any liner look.  The tip is also really fine which allows for easy maneuvering and you can get a nice thin line that really hugs the lashes.  It also had relatively good wear.  It was definitely hard to remove with eye make up remover.
This liner, however, would peel off during the day.  Im not sure if other people had this experience, but I would notice that it would start to just come off on its own as the day went on.  It was so strange! My container also somehow broke.  The is a ring that sits on top of the lid when its open that just popped onto the wand and would keep getting stuck, which caused my product to dry out.

Overall, I don't think I would purchase this liner again.  Although it had a great color and the applicator was phenomenal, I did not like how cheap the packaging was and how it would just peel off my eyes.  It was fine to use while I had it, but probably will not be repurchasing this.

Let me know what you guys think of this product!

Thanks for reading!

XOXO

FabFitFun Unboxing!

Hey guys!

Todays post is going to be about FabFitFun.

This is a seasonal subscription service.  If you go to the website, you'll see a ton of articles to help women be their best self.  They offer daily emails and all kinds of tips and tricks from beauty and style, to life and wellness.  They also have an option to purchase their VIP service to get a monthly box filled with full size products.  Each box is 49.99$ and the contents are picked by the people at FFF.  Unlike other subscription services, there is NO survey to fill out so the company knows your preferences.  This is a standard box sent to all members.  The website claims that each box has at least 225$ worth of product in it, which is an amazing deal! Click here if you want to sign up!

Onto the unboxing.  Be forewarned, there was a lot of stuff in this box, so this post may be a bit longer than normal!

Okay first up is this make up cloth by Thursday Friday.  I have never heard of this company before getting this cute little bag

I used this already once and it fit quite a bit of my toiletries! I was actually surprised how roomy the pouch is because it looks rather small.  The zipper is also amazing; very smooth and doesn't get caught.  This make up pouch was made pretty well! This retails for $35.  Im not sure if I would go out and spend that kind of money on a make up pouch, but I do enjoy having it!

Next up is the FabFitFun Water Infuser BPA-Free Water Bottle which retails for $15.
I haven't gotten a chance to use this yet but it seems fun.  It has a little tube in the inside where you can add fruit and herbs to infuse the water.  At the bottom it says "grab life by the exercise balls."   :|   Not sure how appropriate that is, or how I feel about it. I will probably still use it and $15 for a diffuser water bottle isn't too shabby!

Next thing I saw in the box were the POPchips.  I LOVE POPchips; they are a great healthy alternative for fried chips. I didn't grab a picture of these, but the sample bag was just a single serving size of the sour cream and onion flavor.  The bag was completely smooshed.  Most of them were crushed which was pretty disappointing.  The single serving bag cost $1.29.

The other food product in my box was the Slimfast Have Your Cake... Meal bar which retails for $5.49 for a box of bars.

I still havnt tried this yet, and I am a bit apprehensive to do so.  Ive never really been a fan of slim fast.

Next in the box was the Zoya Nail polish (Retails for $9) in the shade Elodie.  This wasn't that bad. It had decent wear; but I think I will stick with my Essie polishes.

I also got two toiletry products: a Skintimate Shave gel ($1.99) and Always Xtra Protection Long Daily Liners ($1.50).

I used to use Skintimate in high school so it was fun getting a small sample size of this.  I don't use shave cream on a daily basis (I prefer to use hair conditioner; its much more hydrating) but I will definitely use this up.  The panty liners were actually kind of nice.  They aren't flimsy and stay in place for the entire wear.  Im not sure if I will purchase them because I don't think I would use them regularly, but they were fun to try out.

Next up were the KISSTEX Lip Balm ($5.99).
This was probably the worst product in the box.  The "concept" behind this set is that its meant for couples.  One partner wears one flavor and the other partner wears the other and when you smooch you get a tasty combination of the two (I got the flavors chocolate and strawberry). First off, I don't use any lip products with SPF in them (it causes my lips to get super chapped).  Second of all, the packaging looks super cheap and I didn't even enjoy opening it up.  I didn't try these on so I do not how effective they are (but I probably will not be trying them anyhow).  Definitely disappointed in this one.

3 more to go! And, Ive saved the best for last :D

Probably the most EXCITING product in the box is the Sonya Dakar Flash Facial which retails for.......wait for it........$95!!!
This product claims to reveal softer, plumper, and younger looking skin.  To use the product you pump some out and spread it (quickly!!) onto your face.  I recommend doing one side at a time as it peels very quickly and do not rub it between two fingers to apply; apply it directly to the finger you are using to apply the product.  Then let the product sit for about 60 seconds and then being to exfoliate (using your dried fingers) to rub the product off.  With the product will come any dead skin (which seems more disgusting than it actually is).  This product is pretty fascinating.  I have only used it twice so I don't want to give it a formal review but it seems to be doing what it claims so far.
One downside of this product is the packaging.  The little white part on the top is the pump and there is no cover; this means that traveling with this product is just not going to happen.  But overall, I am super excited to continue experimenting with this product!

Next is Balanced Guru No Frizz Oil which retails for 25$.  This is hair oil that supposedly tames flyways and keeps the hair healthy! I have yet to try this out.  Im currently obsessed with the Agave Oil Treatment (which you can pick up at here) so once I am finished with that I will be trying this out!

FINALLY THE LAST PRODUCT!!

This is the pur-lisse pur~protect SPF 30 moisturizer.  This retails for $55!!! I am not sure if I would EVER by a sunscreen this pricey in my life! I still have not gotten a chance to use this product either. It doesn't have that typical sun screen smell which I do appreciate.

Anyhow...That completes my unboxing! This box had a grand total value of 245.77$.  That is absolutely amazing! I am definitely satisfied with this subscription and will probably continue my membership!
I hope you guys enjoyed this(and didn't get to bored with how long this was!!).  Let me know if you guys want to see more unboxings!

(also again I apologize for the poor picture quality; I am still working on getting a hold of my camera!)

xoxo

Snack Fix: Dang! Thats Good Coconut Chips

Tonights post is going to be short and sweet.
I went to whole foods tonight to do my regular grocery shopping. I always let myself have one little treat on my whole foods trips: either some type of dessert or a new type or snack or anything that just looks delicious.  Today I was so proud of myself; I had made it through ENTIRE store without purchasing a single 'treat' item.  I got to the cashier and these Coconut Chips were staring right at me. I asked the man at the register if he has tried them before because I had seen them around and had been refraining for quite some time. He said he hadn't but he said he would give me a bag to try for free! He rang it as inventory (this isn't the first time someone from whole foods has done this; I love this policy because most of the time I do go back and repurchase the item). It was so incredibly thoughtful of him!
I got home and immediately tried them.  Unfortunately I decided to have ZERO self control today and I ate the entire bag. However here is the link to their website so you can check out what they look like! I tried the original flavor and my god are they addictive! They have this delicious roasted crunch to them and just the perfect amount of sweetness! I AM HOOKED! This would be a great addition to my greek yogurt, cereal, salad, or even just to munch on as a snack.
I highly recommend you guys go out and try this! It was definitely worth the calories!
