Update!

Hey Guys!

I just wanted to write a product update on the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask.  I had posted about this quite some time ago and I absolutely love it! I just thought it would be good to follow up with you guys on how Im feeling about the product now!

After my post I continued to use the mask nightly.  However, at some point, I stopped using it.  I can't remember if I had been traveling or if I was just lazy (lets be real: I was probably just being lazy).  And after two days of not using it, my lips completely chapped up! It was awful! My lips were constantly burning and peeling like crazy!  People were asking me what was going on with my lips (and not just my friends; other random people I work with began asking me too! Super embarrassing)

I then realized my problem.

This is a lip MASK; this is not a lip BALM. Like face masks, you should not be applying them every day because it strips your skin of the natural oils and causes more damage than good.  This is precisely what happened with this lip treatment.

This product is extremely hydrating and plumps my lips beautifully.  However, with constant use, it was actually damaging my lips and causing them to be dependent on the product.

It took about a month of lip exfoliating (again, NOT everyday) for my lips to normalize again.

Don't get me wrong; I LOVE this lip treatment.  I just use it 2-3 times a week instead of everyday and I still see the effects of it.

This has just been my personal experience with the product.  I am sure people with different skin types and sensitivities must have different reactions to different products!

I hope this has been useful for you guys!
Let me know if you want more product updates soon!

I also have a small Sephora hall coming up!

Stay tuned :)

Just Some Thoughts

Hey guys!

I thought I would do something different today.  This isn't a product review or haul or anything beauty related.  I just wanted to talk about some thoughts I have been having these past couple months because I feel that many other women (or men) can relate to things that are taking up a lot of my time and energy.

These past couple months have been really hectic.  School has been picking up and residency application process is just around the corner.  Its so overwhelming and frustrating, yet so exciting at the same time.  Im ready to continue on with my life and move onto the next step which will be residency.  Medical school has just been much more difficult than expected (between academics and balancing my personal life so it does not interfere with my career).

As school is becoming more and more difficult, as are some of my relationships.  My boyfriend and I have been struggling quite a bit.  We are now on year 3 of distance, and that isn't even the worst of our problems.  He's been a rock in my life and when things start to go badly I just break down.  I am such an emotional person that I throw myself and my time and energy into making things perfect.  It is exhausting.  And at some point, I don't have it in my to keep struggling.

As these things in my life started heating up, I decided to try yoga to see if that helps with all this anxiety and angst I have bottled up from life.  To be honest, at first, I thought I was doing it for the exercise and hoping it may bring me some calmness.  However, as I continued to go to classes and strengthen my practice, I realized I would make myself go to class even if I was exhausted just to get those 75 minutes of pure clarity.  When I am practicing on my mat something comes over me.  I am able to just let go of everything I am holding onto: all of my thoughts, all of the negative energy.  I am able to just be in a clear state of mind and flow through the movements.  Sometimes, this clarity lasts for the rest of my day.  Sometimes the negative vibes come rushing back as soon as I stop my practice.  However, those 75 minutes bring me so much peace that I will never be able to give it up.

During these moments of silence, I have realized that it is not healthy for anyone to hold onto so many emotions.  Life is too short to be hung up on all the negatives.  At a certain point, you just have to learn to let go whatever is holding you back or clouding your vision.  Be yourself; love yourself.  I have noticed that as long as I am treating myself with love and respect, I am constantly finding happiness.  It has been such a relief to discover this escape from my thoughts.

I hope all of you have your own methods of finding happiness.  I just thought I would share to you all what Ive learned over these past couple of months.

I wish you all lots of love, happiness, and joy.

XOXO

(The gushy feelings are now all over; I realize I was kind of all over the place.  I was just writing everything that came to mind :) and I will be posting up something more fun shortly!)

Review: Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner (Perversion)

Hey Guys!

Im back with another review! I just finished using this Urban Decay eyeliner (it retails for $19 at Sephora.  You can take a look at it here)

The color of this eyeliner is gorgeous.  It is a very pure rich black that stands out really well on the eye with any liner look.  The tip is also really fine which allows for easy maneuvering and you can get a nice thin line that really hugs the lashes.  It also had relatively good wear.  It was definitely hard to remove with eye make up remover.
This liner, however, would peel off during the day.  Im not sure if other people had this experience, but I would notice that it would start to just come off on its own as the day went on.  It was so strange! My container also somehow broke.  The is a ring that sits on top of the lid when its open that just popped onto the wand and would keep getting stuck, which caused my product to dry out.

Overall, I don't think I would purchase this liner again.  Although it had a great color and the applicator was phenomenal, I did not like how cheap the packaging was and how it would just peel off my eyes.  It was fine to use while I had it, but probably will not be repurchasing this.

Let me know what you guys think of this product!

Thanks for reading!

XOXO

FabFitFun Unboxing!

Hey guys!

Todays post is going to be about FabFitFun.

This is a seasonal subscription service.  If you go to the website, you'll see a ton of articles to help women be their best self.  They offer daily emails and all kinds of tips and tricks from beauty and style, to life and wellness.  They also have an option to purchase their VIP service to get a monthly box filled with full size products.  Each box is 49.99$ and the contents are picked by the people at FFF.  Unlike other subscription services, there is NO survey to fill out so the company knows your preferences.  This is a standard box sent to all members.  The website claims that each box has at least 225$ worth of product in it, which is an amazing deal! Click here if you want to sign up!

Onto the unboxing.  Be forewarned, there was a lot of stuff in this box, so this post may be a bit longer than normal!

Okay first up is this make up cloth by Thursday Friday.  I have never heard of this company before getting this cute little bag

I used this already once and it fit quite a bit of my toiletries! I was actually surprised how roomy the pouch is because it looks rather small.  The zipper is also amazing; very smooth and doesn't get caught.  This make up pouch was made pretty well! This retails for $35.  Im not sure if I would go out and spend that kind of money on a make up pouch, but I do enjoy having it!

Next up is the FabFitFun Water Infuser BPA-Free Water Bottle which retails for $15.
I haven't gotten a chance to use this yet but it seems fun.  It has a little tube in the inside where you can add fruit and herbs to infuse the water.  At the bottom it says "grab life by the exercise balls."   :|   Not sure how appropriate that is, or how I feel about it. I will probably still use it and $15 for a diffuser water bottle isn't too shabby!

Next thing I saw in the box were the POPchips.  I LOVE POPchips; they are a great healthy alternative for fried chips. I didn't grab a picture of these, but the sample bag was just a single serving size of the sour cream and onion flavor.  The bag was completely smooshed.  Most of them were crushed which was pretty disappointing.  The single serving bag cost $1.29.

The other food product in my box was the Slimfast Have Your Cake... Meal bar which retails for $5.49 for a box of bars.

I still havnt tried this yet, and I am a bit apprehensive to do so.  Ive never really been a fan of slim fast.

Next in the box was the Zoya Nail polish (Retails for $9) in the shade Elodie.  This wasn't that bad. It had decent wear; but I think I will stick with my Essie polishes.

I also got two toiletry products: a Skintimate Shave gel ($1.99) and Always Xtra Protection Long Daily Liners ($1.50).

I used to use Skintimate in high school so it was fun getting a small sample size of this.  I don't use shave cream on a daily basis (I prefer to use hair conditioner; its much more hydrating) but I will definitely use this up.  The panty liners were actually kind of nice.  They aren't flimsy and stay in place for the entire wear.  Im not sure if I will purchase them because I don't think I would use them regularly, but they were fun to try out.

Next up were the KISSTEX Lip Balm ($5.99).
This was probably the worst product in the box.  The "concept" behind this set is that its meant for couples.  One partner wears one flavor and the other partner wears the other and when you smooch you get a tasty combination of the two (I got the flavors chocolate and strawberry). First off, I don't use any lip products with SPF in them (it causes my lips to get super chapped).  Second of all, the packaging looks super cheap and I didn't even enjoy opening it up.  I didn't try these on so I do not how effective they are (but I probably will not be trying them anyhow).  Definitely disappointed in this one.

3 more to go! And, Ive saved the best for last :D

Probably the most EXCITING product in the box is the Sonya Dakar Flash Facial which retails for.......wait for it........$95!!!
This product claims to reveal softer, plumper, and younger looking skin.  To use the product you pump some out and spread it (quickly!!) onto your face.  I recommend doing one side at a time as it peels very quickly and do not rub it between two fingers to apply; apply it directly to the finger you are using to apply the product.  Then let the product sit for about 60 seconds and then being to exfoliate (using your dried fingers) to rub the product off.  With the product will come any dead skin (which seems more disgusting than it actually is).  This product is pretty fascinating.  I have only used it twice so I don't want to give it a formal review but it seems to be doing what it claims so far.
One downside of this product is the packaging.  The little white part on the top is the pump and there is no cover; this means that traveling with this product is just not going to happen.  But overall, I am super excited to continue experimenting with this product!

Next is Balanced Guru No Frizz Oil which retails for 25$.  This is hair oil that supposedly tames flyways and keeps the hair healthy! I have yet to try this out.  Im currently obsessed with the Agave Oil Treatment (which you can pick up at here) so once I am finished with that I will be trying this out!

FINALLY THE LAST PRODUCT!!

This is the pur-lisse pur~protect SPF 30 moisturizer.  This retails for $55!!! I am not sure if I would EVER by a sunscreen this pricey in my life! I still have not gotten a chance to use this product either. It doesn't have that typical sun screen smell which I do appreciate.

Anyhow...That completes my unboxing! This box had a grand total value of 245.77$.  That is absolutely amazing! I am definitely satisfied with this subscription and will probably continue my membership!
I hope you guys enjoyed this(and didn't get to bored with how long this was!!).  Let me know if you guys want to see more unboxings!

(also again I apologize for the poor picture quality; I am still working on getting a hold of my camera!)

xoxo

Snack Fix: Dang! Thats Good Coconut Chips

Tonights post is going to be short and sweet.
I went to whole foods tonight to do my regular grocery shopping. I always let myself have one little treat on my whole foods trips: either some type of dessert or a new type or snack or anything that just looks delicious.  Today I was so proud of myself; I had made it through ENTIRE store without purchasing a single 'treat' item.  I got to the cashier and these Coconut Chips were staring right at me. I asked the man at the register if he has tried them before because I had seen them around and had been refraining for quite some time. He said he hadn't but he said he would give me a bag to try for free! He rang it as inventory (this isn't the first time someone from whole foods has done this; I love this policy because most of the time I do go back and repurchase the item). It was so incredibly thoughtful of him!
I got home and immediately tried them.  Unfortunately I decided to have ZERO self control today and I ate the entire bag. However here is the link to their website so you can check out what they look like! I tried the original flavor and my god are they addictive! They have this delicious roasted crunch to them and just the perfect amount of sweetness! I AM HOOKED! This would be a great addition to my greek yogurt, cereal, salad, or even just to munch on as a snack.
I highly recommend you guys go out and try this! It was definitely worth the calories!

Review: Dior Addict Lipstick in Princess

Hey guys!!

SO SO SO sorry for being so absent lately! Things have been a bit hectic with school, so I had to put the blogging on the back burner.  But I am back for a mini product review!

I have never owned a lipstick before.  I always have had chapped lips (which I have talked about at length in my previous blog posts), and have never felt confident enough to buy one.  However, lately they have been doing pretty good so I decided I needed to venture into the lipstick world.

Since it was my first lipstick (EVER!), I splurged a bit and purchased the Dior Addict in the shade Princess.

The packaging is so stunning! The picture doesn't do it justice.  The case is clear and has this rainbow reflection which just looks amazing.  Now opening the package took a little while.  I felt pretty silly actually.  I kept trying to pull from the bottom of the package, where it looks like a normal lipstick would open.  It didn't budge.  I started freaking out and getting upset because I thought my packaging was just defective.  However, I was being super silly and realized (eventually) you just pull from the little ball at the bottom!

This is the shade I decided on! It looks bright but when applied, it is a sheer baby pink that just adds the right amount of color to the lip.  I am so incredibly satisfied with this product! Its not overly drying (not really hydrating either though; I put a lip balm underneath to make sure I stay hydrated). The color is pretty long lasting too.  I drank an entire iced coffee and you could still see the color on my lips; although this is not a stain!

Overall, this was an amazing purchase.  I will defiantly be exploring the other colors in this line! You can buy them here from Sephora!

Mini Haul!!

Hey guys!

I just did a bit of damage to the credit card these past few weeks (eek!)! Here are all the goodsI picked up!

First stop: Sephora.

This past year my skin has been giving me a lot of problems. I have been breaking out a ton and I have been scarring from each little pimple.  Its been awful! So I've been trying to find a good dark spot eliminator.  Looking through reviews I decided to try the Fresh Peony Spot Correcting Brightening Essence.

For 65$ you get 1oz bottle, which seems like nothing.  However, after using if for just a day, Ive noticed you need very little product so this one bottle will last quite some time.  Packaging wise, I was not very impressed.  Its pretty cheap looking plastic.  This was pretty disappointing considering the hefty price tag; hopefully the product will compensate for the lack of packaging.
There is also this strange tiny hole at the bottom of my bottle; it seems like it was done on purpose but Im not sure.  Anyone else have this problem??
According to Sephora, this product is supposed to " brighten skintone, clarify, lighten, and visibly reduce the appearance of age spots and imperfections".
The brightening complex is a mixture of peony root extract, licorice root extract, and vitamin C.  I am not sure how these products chemically work, but they all sound like fantastic ingredients.  This also has hyaluronic acid which helps to seal in moisture!  Hopefully this product turns out to be as good as the reviews say! Ill keep you guys updated!

Next thing I purchased were these awesome hair ties
I am currently obsessed with these! This package was on sale for only 5$; definitely a steal!  These look so cute on your wrist and in your hair.  Absolutely obsessed!

I also got this fun sample from Chloe

The packaging is just absolutely adorable!! Im not quite sure how to describe the scent.  According to Sephora, there are notes of jasmine, ylang ylang, vanilla, and musk.  I still need to test this one out, but I think I am going to like it.  Its definitely a light, florally, feminine scent.

Next onto Nordstroms.  I only got one thing from here.  My mother recommended it and thought it would help me out.  This is the Estee Lauder 'Clear Difference' Targeted Blemish Treatment (35$).
This produce is pretty unique.  It has salicylic acid which helps bust any pimples!  It has a nifty little roller ball to glide the product on.  I did use it once already.  The one con Ive found with it so far is that you can't control the amount of product that comes up.  Theres a little pump at the bottom (not pictured; sorry!) that pushes the product up and under the rollerball.  I tried to press up gently but a decent amount of product still shot up.  Hopefully the product is good enough that this little con won't bother me much.

Thats it for this mini haul! Hope you guys have enjoyed!

May Birchbox Unboxing

Hey guys! So so sorry for taking so long to put something new up on the blog! My schedule has been beyond hectic.  Today's post is going to be all about my May Birchbox! For those of you who don't know, Birchbox is a beauty company.  You register online and fill out a beauty profile about what interests you and what type of beauty and skincare products you enjoy.  For 10$ a month, they send you a box filled with samples of new products to try out! Its really a great and fun way to try out new brands and products.  Ive been a member since January and have been pretty happy with my box every month!
They also have a great rewards program.  Check out the website to read all about it (www.birchbox.com)

So onto my unboxing! Ive only tried two of the products so far, but I wanted to show you guys everything I got this month!

I definitely enjoyed the packaging! It was a lot of fun; and yellow is my absolute favorite color

First thing I got in the box is this Laqa and Co. Sheer Lip Lube Pencil in the color Menatour.  I was petrified of this color when I first saw it.  I am usually more of the nudes/light pinks when it comes to lips but this was shockingly purple.  Even the swatch looked a bit intimidating.  However, when I put it on I fell in love.  First of all, it glides on incredibly smoothly; just like butter.  Its definitely not drying (not too hydrating, but my lips did not flake at all).  The color faded in a few hours but it did leave a nice stain to the lips which lasted all day! I have a picture down below of what it looks like on my lips (I apologize for the awful image quality; I promise my new camera will be coming soon!!)
Overall, I am happy with this product.  The full size retails for 18$.

Next product I got was Whish Shave Crave Shaving Cream (full size retails for 20$)

I don't really use shaving cream so this product is kind of a waste on me.  I use Suave hair conditioner (weird I know; but it provides SOOO much hydration and leaves your skin silky smooth!).  I have not tried this product out yet either, but it does smell wonderful.  The scent I got was acai grapefruit.  It has a pleasant citrusy smell to it.  I do think Ill enjoy this, but I probably won't purchase a full sized product.  20$ for shaving cream is a bit steep; and I love my Sauve substitute :)!

Next up was the SmartyPants All in One Gummy Vitamins for Adults. I could not believe that I got vitamins in my birch box this month! I was so so disappointed.  Usually they give something delicious to try out, but I did not expect to get vitamins.  And the package size was pathetic.  It came with 2 gummies (a third of the serving size!)
Heres a picture of the nutrition information and what the gummies looked like.

These were shockingly good.  They are vitamins so they don't taste exactly like gummies but they were great! And easy to chew (unlike the one a day chewable vitamins which can get pretty tough).  They also contain omega-3 fatty acids which the one a day ones don't; something I also liked. The full price of this product is 30$ and it comes with 30 servings (which is 6 gummies).  Although these were great, Im not sure that I will be purchasing the full sample simply based on the price tag.  30$ for just a month of vitamins seems a bit pricey to me!

Next up was the Number 4 Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner.

I have heard amazing things about this brand so I was excited to try it out.  However the samples again are so poorly made! The shampoo is pretty tiny (maybe 3 washes) and the conditioner is in a flimsy foil packaging! Im expecting good things from the product, but severely disappointed with the sample size and packaging with this one! The full size shampoo retails for 34$ and the conditioner is 36$

The last product I got was the CoTZ Face Natural Skin Tone SPF 40, which retails for 20$.

This product is super interesting.  It is a natural skin toned SPF cream.  I have been hearing a lot about these types of sun screens so I was excited to try it.  Again the sample size is tinsy!! I don't know what happened to birchbox this month, but the sample sizes were so small! This sun screen is also supposed to leave behind a matte finish and can be used under makeup! So even tho the sample size is tiny, I am excited to try this out! And the price tag isn't to steep, so if its a product I enjoy, I won't mind purchasing it!

Finally, Birchbox partnered up with Kate Spade Saturday this month.  In every box theres this coupon.

My computer refuses to rotate this picture so I apologize but I wanted to show this to you! This was kind of nice.  Its a coupon for 25$ off a 75$ purchase.  Ive been meaning to try out this line so I can't wait to use the coupon! Let me know if you guys want to see a haul from my mini shopping trip!

Thats it for now! Hope you guys enjoyed! Let me know what you guys got in your boxes too!

Sip-N-Glo Juicery Pump Up Shake

Hey guys!

Im back again; this time to talk about this amazing new shake Ive been drinking by Sip-N-Glo Juicery.  I picked up this drink from my yoga studio (which I will be doing another post on later) after a power yoga session to try out.

I was pretty nervous to try out a protein shake like this.  The last packaged protein shake I had tried was one of the Naked Juice ones and I absolutely hated it! You could taste the protein powder with every sip.  This may seem a bit strange but when I was younger and I couldn't swallow medicine pills, my grandmother would crush it up and put it in honey for me to have; it was absolutely disgusting and those Naked drinks reminded me exactly of that.

Anyhow, I decided to pick it up because the ladies at the studio said that everyone loved it and because the nutrition information wasn't as awful as I was expecting. Although it does have 12g of fat, I think thats mostly from the almond milk and the protein powder, so I wasn't too concerned about that.  And it has 25g of protein! Absolutely amazing.  (Theres a picture down below with the nutrition information)  It is a pretty unique drink too.  The only 4 ingredients are listed on the front of the bottle: vanilla protein, chia seeds, cinnamon, and almond milk.  I had never tried chia seeds before either so this was quite the adventure for me.  It was also a bit nerve wracking to buy because it was 8$; pretty steep for a shake in comparison to Naked.

Anyhow, I got home from yoga and went to open up the bottle.  It took me a good minute to loosen it up enough to open.  It was sealed incredibly well.  I apprehensively took my first sip and was pleasantly surprised.  It actually tasted like chai! And there was no powdery protein taste!
The chia seeds added some interesting texture as well.  This drink was absolutely amazing!

And what was great about it was that it actually was filling! I like juicing for lunch whenever I get the chance; especially after gym classes.  It just makes me feel so healthy and fit! But, whenever I have a Naked Juice I always have to have something with it, like a salad.  But this shake was more than enough for lunch!

I will definitely be repurchasing this shake whenever I go to the yoga studio!

I also got curious about this company, so I did some google-ing (that should definitely be a word, I definitely use it quite often)

Sip-N-Glo is a local Philadelphia Juicery which makes a ton of unique juices, smoothies, and protein shakes.  I haven't been to the store yet, but I really want to make a trip out there to try out some of the flavors that aren't kept at my yoga studio! They also offer a cleanse package with various juices, which would also be fascinating to try!

All in all, this was a great find!
Heres the link to the Juicery in case you guys check it out!

Have a wonderful day!!

Lush Mask of Magnaminty

Time for another product review! Today I am going to talk about Lush's Mask of Magnaminty.

This is the first product I have tried from Lush, and I have to say this is absolutely amazing! I heard about this product on several you tube channels and decided I had to see what all the commotion is all about.

This product is a face and body mask that is made of wonderful, rich ingredients.
The first ingredient is Bentonite Gel.  According to the Lush website, bentonite absorbs grease and dirt from the skin, while smoothing fine lines and tightening the skin.
Another main ingredient is Kaolin (China Clay)which is added to help exfoliate the skin.
The full list of ingredients is available on the website, as well as on the container of the product.

Unlike Lush's Fresh Face Mask's, which need to be refrigerated, this mask does NOT need to be refrigerated.  I do think this is one of the benefits of this mask.  I think I would forget about my products if I had to keep them in the fridge in my kitchen (I also don't want facial and body products in my fridge where I keep my food!)

When you open up this container, first thing you notice is the bright green color and little beads.  These 'beads' are actually ground aduki beans which exfoliate and absorb excess dirt and oil.  Next thing thats easily noticeable is the calming fragrance.  I LOVE the scent of this mask.  It has a minty-vanilla scent which is unbelievable soothing and relaxing.  It almost has an aromatherapy like effect on me.

I usually apply this mask 1-2 times a week when my skin needs some extra cleansing or I am starting to break out.  I have noticed that this mask does an amazing job at minimizing redness and inflammation and helps with my acne.

The only con I have for this mask is that one I wash it off, my skin does feel a bit dry.  I always have to moisturize after using the mask.  I was hoping that such a wonderful mask would have some more moisturizing qualities.  But I guess most of the ingredients are supposed to remove excess oil and dirt, which leaves the skin a bit dry anyhow (the mask is clearly doing its job).

After trying (and loving) this product, Ive decided I need to go and try more Lush products.  I also love the philosophy and ethical grounds Lush has.  It really seems like a wholesome company.  (Here are some of there core values).  If any of you have any recommendations on anything to try, let me know in the comments below!

If you wish to purchase the mask click here.

Goodbye for now!!

Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask: Is it worth the hype?

One word: ABSOLUTELY.

This lip mask has completely changed my life.  I have terribly chapped lips 24/7.  Its miserable.  Wearing lipsticks is a disaster because they always flake off and accentuate my dry lips.  I have tried everything, from basic chap stick to various oils, and nothing has seemed to work!

This lip treatment has just been a miracle! It has a mixture of agave nectar, jojoba oil, and various other nourishing components that really work deep into the lips to give a long lasting moisture.

You only need a little bit a product for the effects to really kick in which is why I don't mind paying 26$ for it.  I use it every night after I brush my teeth.  The mask is a bit sticky (which is why I put it on at bed time) but it clings onto you lips wonderfully and the moisture lasts all night and into the next day!

The only thing I don't love about the product is the packaging.  The tube is pretty difficult to squeeze.  I think that this was done on purpose so that the product doesn't spill out, but it can be a bit frustrating.

If you guys have not purchased this yet, I strongly recommend you go out and get it.  Its truly worth the investment!

If you wanna purchase this product from Sephora click here.

Have a lovely day!!

(ps, I have left my camera and my parents house and will be camera-less for quite some time :(; i promise once I get it back I will be posting several pics on every product I review!)
